Global survey on the professional status of community interpreters

Press release: 01.06.2015 CLI is pleased to support the work of Paola Gentile, a Ph.D. student in Interpreting Studies at the University of Trieste, (Italy) under the supervision of Professor Maurizio Viezzi. Paola is conducting the first international study on community interpreting. The survey*, available in 5 languages, will research the conditions and status of community interpreters (also known as public service interpreters in some regions). Final version of ISO 13661 set for release The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is set to release the final version of ISO 13611, Interpreting–Guidelines for community interpreting. AVLIC 2014: Interpreters and Human Rights

Re-cap of the Association of Visual Language Interpreters of Canada’s most recent conference Interpreters and Human Rights. That was the theme chosen by the Association of Visual Language Interpreters of Canada (AVLIC) for its recent conference in Winnipeg, Canada held July 8th through 12th, 2014.  Language rights are human rights Bonnie Heath, past President of Critical Link, co-chaired the conference.
